Hi, my name is Marta Sainz de Baranda and I work for Accem, a Spanish NGO dealing with migration and asylum. I work for the International Division, dealing with differente projects and doing research on different subjects.
Accem has as principal mission to promote the integration of refugees and immigrants in the Spanish society and to advance toward an intercultural society, based on the respect of the human rights.
With that aim, we cover a multiplicity of areas, whose targets are not only immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees and displaced persons, but also the welcome society. Among the programs we develop, we can highlight the following:
• Information and Guidance
• Interpretation and Translation
• Legal advice
• Psychological services
• Social support
• Social and labour Integration
• Emergency Aid
• Social, language, volunteer and language training
• Family reunification
• Voluntary return
• Trafficking
• Resettlement (third countries / and Spain…)
• Reception Centres for Refugees and Immigrants
• Unaccompanied minors
• Ethnic minorities and social emergency
• Centre of Information, Resources and Documentation on Asylum and Migrations
• Social Awareness and Mobilisation (Observatories)
At present we work in 10 of the 17 Autonomous Communities of the Spanish territory (Andalucia, Asturias, Aragon, Castille-León, Castilla-La Mancha, Cataluña, Galicia, Madrid, País Vasco and Valencia), as well as in the Autonomous City of Melilla.
